COL BKB: Baylor 76, Brigham Young 70

NEW YORK, April 2 (UPI) -- Pierre Jackson put in 24 points and Cory Jefferson added 21 Tuesday, boosting second-seeded Baylor into the NIT finals with a 76-70 win over Brigham Young.

Jackson also dished off 10 assists as the Bears (24-12) broke the National Invitation Tournament semifinal contest open with a 14-3 run in the second half at Madison Square Garden.

Isaiah Austin provided 14 points with 10 rebounds and A.J. Walton also reached double figures with 10 points for Baylor, which now goes on to face the winner of Tuesday's late game pitting Maryland and Iowa for the NIT crown.

Third-seeded BYU (22-14) got 25 points from Tyler Hawes in a losing effort.

Matt Carlino added 19 points for the Cougars.
