COL BKB: Saint Louis 76, VCU 62

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Jordair Jett scored 16 points -- all in the second half -- to lead Saint Louis to a 76-62 win over No. 24 Virginia Commonwealth Tuesday.

Mike McCall added 15 points and Dwayne Evans 14 for the Billikens (20-5, 9-2 A-10), who moved into sole possession of first place in the Atlantic 10.

Saint Louis shot 55 percent from the field and committed only nine turnovers against a Virginia Commonwealth (21-6, 9-3 A-10) varsity that leads the nation in forced turnovers.

Virginia Commonwealth was an equally respectable 10 turnovers and won the battle of the boards 31-27, but shot 44.4 percent from the field and was 8-for-15 from the free throw line.

Juvonte Reddic led VCU with 19 points and 12 rebounds for his sixth double-double in eight games. The Rams saw their five-game winning streak come to a close.

Saint Louis led from the opening tip, taking a 17-0 lead and staking a 38-21 at halftime.
