COL BKB: Syracuse 96, Central Conn. St. 62

SYRACUSE, N.Y., Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Michael Carter-Williams scored 18 points Monday and Coach Jim Boeheim marked a milestone for No. 7 Syracuse in its 96-62 win over Central Connecticut State.

Carter-Williams handed out 13 assists to go along with his career-high point total as the Orange (12-1) extended its home winning streak to 32 games, tops in the nation.

With career victory No. 902, Boeheim tied Bob Knight for second all-time in wins among Division I coaches. Duke's Mike Krzyzewski holds the record at 927 and counting.

C.J. Fair (13 points, 10 rebounds), DaJuan Coleman (13, nine) and Brandon Triche (13 points) also played big roles in the Syracuse victory.

Matt Hunter supplied 18 points, 13 rebounds and six steals for the Blue Devils (4-7).
