WASHINGTON, March 9 (UPI) -- U.S. President Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron planned to attend an NCAA First Four game at the University of Dayton Arena, the White House said.

Obama will bring Cameron with him Tuesday on his first presidential visit to the Ohio venue to catch a game in the first stage of the lead-up to the Final Four of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters Friday aboard Air Force One en route to Richmond, Va.

"I think it's great. He [Obama] is a huge basketball fan," Dayton City Commissioner Nan Whaley told the Cincinnati Enquirer. "Even he knows that Dayton is a huge basketball town."

Earnest said the prime minister's wife will remain behind in Washington with first lady Michelle Obama and the two will attend an Olympic-themed children's event.

Formal events are scheduled for Wednesday in Washington.

The teams playing in the First Four are due to be selected Sunday.
