LOUISVILLE, Ky., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Russ Smith scored 18 points and Kyle Kuric added 17 Saturday, sparking 17th-ranked Louisville's 57-54 victory over Pittsburgh.
Peyton Siva chipped in with 11 points, five assists and five rebounds as the Cardinals (22-7, 10-6 Big East) held off a determined comeback try by the Panthers.

Louisville emerged with the win when a potential game-tying heave from half-court by Pitt's Ashton Gibbs missed as time expired.
The Panthers (15-14, 4-12) dropped their fifth straight despite 16 points from J.J. Moore.
Dante Taylor contributed 11 points for Pitt.
