COL BKB: N. Carolina 73, Miami (Fla.) 64

CORAL GABLES, Fla., Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Two free throws from Kendall Marshall with 9:07 to play Wednesday ignited a seven-point run and sent No. 7 North Carolina to a 73-64 win over Miami.

The Tar Heels trailed by as many as nine points in the first half before coming back for their seventh victory in eight games.

Miami, which lost by 17 at North Carolina Jan. 10, forged a 53-53 tie on a 3-pointer by Trey McKinney Jones with 9:19 to go. North Carolina scored the next seven points and coasted down the stretch.

Harrison Barnes had 23 points to lead the Tar Heels and John Henson had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Marshall produced only five points, but contributed nine assists.

North Carolina improved to 22-4 for the season and leads the Atlantic Coast Conference with a 9-2 record.

Miami (15-0, 6-5), which owns a win at Duke this year, got 15 points from Durand Scott.
