WACO, Texas, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Jeff Withey paced Kansas to a strong start to the second half Wednesday and the No. 10 Jayhawks rolled over sixth-ranked Baylor 68-54.
Kansas held Baylor scoreless for the final 3:23 of the first half and emerged with a 33-30 lead at the break. The Jayhawks then opened the second half on a 23-6 run that blew open the contest.
Withey scored 25 points, hitting 8-of-10 from the field and 9-of-11 from the foul line.
Kansas swept the season series from the Bears, who won their first 17 games this season before falling to the Jayhawks on the road last month. The 54 points equaled Baylor's low for the season, which came in a two-point win over Mississippi State.
Tyshawn Taylor added 19 points for Kansas and Thomas Robinson had 15 points to go with 11 rebounds. The Jayhawks (19-5, 9-2) shot 51 percent from the field and held the Bears to 37 percent
Pierre Jackson paced Baylor (21-3, 8-3) with 16 points. The Bears had won four in a row since losing back-to-back games against Kansas and Missouri. Baylor travels to Missouri on Saturday.
