COL BKB: Missouri 74, Kansas 71

COLUMBIA, Mo., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Marcus Denmon scored nine of his 29 points during a late-game surge Saturday that handed No. 4 Missouri a 74-71 win over eighth-ranked Kansas.

Denmon personally scored nine consecutive points, including a pair of 3-pointers, as the Tigers (21-2, 8-2 Big 12) finished the game on a 13-0 run.

Denmon drained 6-of-9 attempts from 3-point range overall as Missouri claimed its third straight win and forged a tie with the Jayhawks (18-5, 8-2) and Baylor atop the Big 12 Conference.

Kim English chipped in 18 points and Michael Dixon added 15 for the victors, including two free throws in the final minute.

Thomas Robinson provided 25 points and 13 rebounds for Kansas, and Tyshawn Taylor contributed 21 points.
