COL BKB: Duke 75, Virginia Tech 60

BLACKSBURG, Va., Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Austin Rivers made four of Duke's eight long-range shots Thursday and scored 18 points to lead the No. 5 Blue Devils past Virginia Tech 75-60.

Duke ended the first period on a 17-7 run to take a 10-point advantage and coasted from there to win for the seventh time in eight games. It was the Blue Devils' 16th victory over Virginia Tech in their last 19 meetings.

Ryan Kelly came off the bench to add 15 points for the Blue Devils (19-3, 6-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) and Seth Curry had 11. Duke shot 47 percent from the field and made 8-of-18 from 3-point range.

Erick Green led Virginia Tech (12-10, 1-6) with 17 points.
