COL BKB: Marquette 79, Providence 72

PROVIDENCE, R.I., Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Jae Crowder and Darius Johnson-Odom each popped in 18 points Saturday and 22nd-ranked Marquette bested Providence 79-72 in a Big East contest.

Jamil Wilson chipped in with 16 points as the Golden Eagles (16-4, 5-2 Big East) racked up their fourth straight win.

Todd Mayo added 10 points for the victors.

The Friars (12-8, 1-6) couldn't prevent their sixth loss in seven games despite 28 points from Bryce Cotton.
