Pussy Riot detained and questioned in Sochi

SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Pussy Riot members Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina were detained and questioned by Sochi police while planning an anti-Putin protest.

The two activists were detained by police after an alleged complaint of theft from a hotel in Sochi. They were said to have been planning an event where they would sing songs such as, "Putin Will Teach You to Love Motherland." The women are reported to still have access to their mobile phones, and Tolokonnikova tweeted, "At the time of our detention, we weren't engaged in any protests."

Their original arrest that made them international names came after they performed anti-Putin songs in Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Savior in 2011.
