Meanwhile on Sunday, Grenada beat Rayo Vallecano 2-0 while Malaga ran out 1-0 winners over Getafe.

On Saturday, Levante won 2-1 over Elche. The Spanish league has been closer this season as Atletico threatens the usual top two with incredible team performances.

Former Barcelona striker, Thierry Henry, now plays in the MLS with New York Redbulls. On a television show following the latest Champions League soccer matches, Henry labeled Atletico Madrid as one of the most dangerous teams in Europe this season, saying there are many teams he'd rather face as a player.
