Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Luis Aragones has denied reports that he would retire from managing soccer teams.
The winner of the Euro 2008 tournament with Spain's national soccer team said, “Age can retire us all, but I am still active, and I am not retiring. If an offer comes I will study it. Maybe I will coach again if the conditions are interesting.”
Aragones has had a successful career as a manager at Barcelona, Espanyol, Sevilla, Valencia, Betis and Real Mallorca. He also was a successful player at Getafe, Real Madrid, Real Oviedo, Atletico Madrid and Real Betis.
During his time as Spain coach between 2004-2008 he was renowned for getting Spain to play an exciting brand of football which included lots of short passing and non-stop movement. He was however surrounded by controversy for a short while when he had allegedly used a racial slur to describe French forward Thierry Henry while speaking to Henry's Arsenal teammate and Spanish national team player Jose Antonio Reyes.
