Barcelona won 4-0 against Grenada

Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Spain's top three placed teams in La Liga all won by a margin of at least four goals this past weekend.

League leaders Barcelona beat mid-table Grenada by a score of 4-0. Andres Iniesta opened the scoring from a penalty. Twenty minutes later Cesc Fabregas doubled the lead, also from the penalty spot. Alexis Sanchez scored in the second half before Pedro score a late goal.

Third placed Real Madrid routed lowly Almeria 5-0, but the game's focus was on Cristiano Ronaldo who left the field with an injury. Ronaldo is expected to win the World Player of the Year award for 2013.

Ronaldo scored the first goal of the match early. Karim Benzema added one in the second half before new signing Gareth Bale, Isco, and Alvaro Morata all added one each.

Real's cross town rivals Atletico Madrid scored the biggest victory however as they beat Getafe 7-0.

Raul Garcia and David Villa scored two goals each and Diego Costa and Adrian scored one each. Getafe's Alberto Lopo scored an own goal.

The win keeps Atletico in second place behind Barcelona. Barcelona is ahead by just three points as they continue the season having not yet been beaten. Real Madrid chases Atletico by three points. In fourth place Villarreal is trailing Real by seven points.
