Philadelphia Eagles' left tackle Jason Peters was arrested in Louisiana Wednesday on charges of drag racing and resisting a police officer by flight.

The arrest affidavit claims Deputy L. Deal saw Peters's white Camaro race an adjacent blue sedan after a traffic light turned green. When the officer turned his emergency lights on the sedan pulled over but the Camaro, driven by Peters, accelerated and exited U.S. 165 North.

Peters's camaro reportedly exceeded speeds of 100 mph when the deputy was in pursuit. He eventually pulled over at a shopping center where the officer ordered him to exit the vehicle. Peters was then handcuffed, arrested and transported to Ouachita Correctional Center. He was booked on charges of drag racing and resisting by flight.

"We are aware of the reports that Jason Peters was arrested this morning in Louisiana," the Eagles said in a statement. "We have been in contact with Jason and due to the legal nature of this matter we will not have any further comment at this point."
