A brawl between Dodgers players and Diamondbacks players is likely to cause suspensions among several key players.

In the middle of their 5-3 home win over the Diamondbacks, Arizona's Ian Kennedy hit Dodger Yasiel Puig in the face with "the worst pitch of all time."

Because Puig has been such an important player for the Dodgers, his team decided to stick up for him, even though the hit was unintentional.

Just two months ago, the Dodgers' Carlos Quentin broke Zach Greinke's collarbone after a similarly accidental event.

The Dodgers did not take Quentin's lesson, though, and shot back in the middle of the next inning, when Greinke hit Miguel Montero. That led Kennedy to hit Greinke, which sparked a brawl to break out. It started so quickly announcer Vin Scully said, "No sense in calling out names. They're all there."

The players involved will likely face suspensions for the next few games, which would keep the player they were trying to defend out of the game.

Puig just began play last week after moving from Cuba and has had several multi-hit games and a near .500 batting average -- impressive for a seasoned veteran, more so for a player so new to the league.

"The more you think about it, you knew someone was going to knock him down," said rookie Tim Federowicz.
