Sept. 24 (UPI) -- The 2021 Ryder Cup and dozens of NFL and college football matchups fill the weekend sports schedule. NASCAR's Cup Series Playoffs, boxing and UFC title fights and several soccer and MLB games also pack the slate.
A total of 14 NFL matchups and 105 college football games air from Friday through Sunday.
The football weekend starts with a game between Middle Tennessee State and Charlotte at 6:30 p.m. EDT Friday on CBSSN.
It ends with a Sunday Night Football meeting between Aaron Rodgers' Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, Calif.
NFL matchups
The NFL's Sunday schedule features nine games at 1 p.m. EDT, two games at 4:05 p.m., two at 4:25 p.m. and one at 8:20 p.m.
The Indianapolis Colts face the Tennessee Titans in one of the early divisional games on CBS. Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs host Justin Herbert's Los Angeles Chargers in another 1 p.m. EDT CBS matchup.
The Pittsburgh Steelers host the Cincinnati Bengals in the latest edition of their AFC North rivalry at 1 p.m. EDT Sunday in Pittsburgh.
Chicago Bears rookie Justin Fields makes his first NFL start against the Cleveland Browns at 1 p.m. EDT Sunday in Cleveland.
Lamar Jackson's Baltimore Ravens take on the Detroit Lions at 1 p.m. EDT Sunday in Detroit.
Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers match up with the Los Angeles Rams in one of the most anticipated matchups of the weekend. That game kicks off at 4:25 p.m. EDT Sunday on Fox.
Ryder Cup
The 2021 Ryder Cup tees off Friday and runs through Sunday at Whistling Straits Golf Course in Sheboygan, Wis.
Team USA is favored to beat Team Europe, despite its lack of recent success at the biennial tournament. The Ryder Cup, which was suspended for one year due to COVID-19, airs on Golf Channel and NBC.
The tournament features four-ball, foursome and singles format. The first team to record 14.5 points wins. The Europeans are the defending champions and own seven of the last 10 titles.
No. 1 Jon Rahm of Spain leads Team Europe. No. 2 Dustin Johnson leads the Americans.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
Notre Dame, the No. 12 team in the Coaches Poll, battles No. 15 Wisconsin in one of the first major matchups Saturday.
That game kicks off at noon EDT Saturday at Soldier Field and airs on Fox.
No. 2 Georgia takes on Vanderbilt at noon EDT Saturday on SEC Network. No. 1 Alabama hosts Southern Miss at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
No. 3 Oklahoma hosts West Virginian at 7:30 p.m. on Fox. No. 4 Oregon hosts Arizona at 10:30 p.m. on ESPN.
No. 5 Texas A&M faces No. 18 Arkansas at 3:30 p.m. on CBS. Texas battles Texas Tech in a rivalry matchup at noon on ABC.
Tennessee faces Florida in an SEC test at 7 p.m. ESPN.
