July 27 (UPI) -- The WNBA All-Star Game will be played in Las Vegas for the first time Saturday afternoon.
Chicago Sky forward Elena Delle Donne and Las Vegas Aces forward A'ja Wilson are the captains. They drafted their respective teams before All-Star Weekend began.
Aces coach Bill Laimbeer will coach Team Delle Donne and Washington Mystics head coach Mike Thibault will coach Team Wilson.
The festivities began with Connecticut Sun forward Shekinna Stricklen defeating Aces guard Kayla McBride 23-22 to win the 2019 WNBA three-point contest Friday night.
"This is big," Stricklen said after the contest. "I'm still kind of in shock."
