May 24 (UPI) -- Down 3-2 with one out in the ninth inning, the LSU Tigers scored the game-winning runs on a wild pitch and an error to beat Auburn in the SEC Tournament on Thursday.

With a 1-0 count, Auburn left-hander Brooks Fuller threw a ball low to pinch hitter Chris Reid. Auburn catcher Matt Scheffler lost track of the ball and accidentally it beyond the first base line.

When Tigers first baseman Rankin Woley scooped up the ball, he threw it past Scheffler. LSU's Drew Bianco, who entered earlier in the inning as a pinch runner, scored without a throw.

Thursday's comeback win came after LSU (36-23) lost to Mississippi State in a 17-inning game that ended after 3 a.m. that morning.

"Who would give you a chance after getting into bed at 4:30 in the morning and having to get up four hours later for a pre-game meal?" LSU coach Paul Mainieri said after the game. "And somehow the kids found a way to go out there and do it, and I'm just really proud of them."
