Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Floyd Mayweather wants the NBA to pay respect to the silky jump shot he recently showed off at the gym.

Mayweather, who is training for his upcoming fight against UFC star Conor McGregor, posted a video of himself shooting hoops on Tuesday. He @'ed and hashtagged the NBA.

"Just shooting around, working on my midrange jumper #nba," Mayweather wrote.

Mayweather wears out the right elbow in the 45-second clip, swishing in shot after shot. "Money" swished in eight consecutive attempts from the left side.

Mayweather and McGregor have continued to relentlessly smack talk each other, even after their world tour of press conferences.

"Champion Predictions: I'm gonna make a [expletive] ton of money on August 26th," Mayweather wrote on social media last week, referencing the megafight at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

On Tuesday night he also posted a photo on social media telling McGregor (49-0) that the two should fight in eight-ounce gloves.

"Don't believe what you hear in the media," Mayweather wrote. "Don't believe what you hear on blog sites. If it's not coming directly from me, then it's not true. I'm telling McGregor, "Let's fight in 8 oz gloves". McGregor can fight in any brand he prefers or chooses. I'll be wearing 8 oz Grant gloves. Whatever advantage McGregor needs to feel more comfortable in the ring, I'm willing to accommodate. Let's give the boxing and MMA fans what they want to see."

According to Nevada State Athletic Commission (NASC) rules, boxers fighting at 154 pounds or above must use 10-ounce gloves. Fights fought between 135 and 147 pounds can include eight-ounce gloves.

McGregor took to social media Wednesday to post a photo with Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta from the UFC.

"Talking business in the bathroom tonight," McGregor wrote. "We are always at it. There is an official "Conor McGregor conference room" right around the corner at this @ufcpi and everything. But somehow we still end up in the jax talking business instead haha."

"I have so much love and respect for these two men. Two legends of the fight game that have helped mentor me in this crazy business. I was mentored to a point where I was then able to position myself to where I am now. Partners in association. It has been some journey!"

"This is an iconic image for all the true fight fans around the world!"
