July 23 (UPI) -- MMA superstar Conor McGregor had no time for Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green when the two battled it out on Instagram.

Green posted a photo of McGregor early Sunday morning. The photo showed "The Notorious" walking down a hallway while wearing a Warriors No. 23 jersey.

But the jersey wasn't a Green replica.

"We rocking with Floyd [Mayweather] bro not you...take that off bruh @thenotoriousmma," {link:Green wrote on Instagram. : "https://www.instagram.com/p/BW4djQ5lIb6/?taken-by=money23green&hl=en" target="_blank" title="Green Instagram"} The posted got several responses from big names.

"Splash for the cash #warriors #michigan," Mayweather commented.

Green and Mayweather were both born in Michigan. Mayweather hails from Grand Rapids while Green was born in Saginaw.

McGregor then set the record straight.

"That's C.J. Watson mate," McGregor commented. "I don't know who the [expletive] you are. No disrespect tho kid, keep hustling and stay in school."

"Now ask yourself why I'm rocking C.J. when I don't know or give a [expletive] about basketball. I dribble heads off the floor. Not a ball. This is no game here kid."

This isn't the first time McGregor has referenced Watson in relation to Mayweather.

In January, McGregor posted a photo on Twitter showing himself standing over an unconscious Mayweather. The caption read: "Call me C.J. Watson."

The reference is a nod toward Mayweather's history of domestic violence and an incident in 2010 when Mayweather found text messages from Watson on Josie Harris' phone, according to USA Today. Harris is the mother of three of Mayweather's children.

Green responded to McGregor's clap back with a bit of a deflection. He also listed his résumé.

"@thenotoriousmma hahahahaha that number won't be worn again when I'm finished with it clown! Gold medalist, NBA champ, All-Star, DPY etc!!! Hahahaha stop it boy! Nate Diaz (Bay Area stand up) whooped you in your ring! Money May about to destroy you!!! Take that warrior jersey off bruh you're an incredible internet troll we don't rock with you! Go train bum," Green wrote.
