The Detroit Red Wings signed defensemen Brian Lashoff and Dylan McIlrath to two-year contract extensions, the team announced on Thursday.

Lashoff failed to record a point and owned a minus-3 rating while playing in five games last season with the Red Wings. The 26-year-old has collected two goals, 11 assists and 57 penalty minutes in 122 career NHL contests -- all with Detroit.

Lashoff skated in 62 games for Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League last season, scoring three goals and setting up eight others.

McIlrath did not record a point in his lone NHL game last season while playing for the New York Rangers. The 25-year-old joined the Griffins after Detroit acquired him along with a third-round pick in the 2017 NHL draft from the Florida Panthers for forward Thomas Vanek on March 1.

McIlrath, who was the 10th overall pick of the 2010 draft by the Rangers, notched four assists and 42 penalty minutes in 21 games with Grand Rapids.
