Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival underwent surgery Tuesday to repair facial fractures, the team announced.

Rozsival suffered the injury Thursday when he was punched by the Ducks' Nick Ritchie. Ritchie received a two-game suspension.

It is unclear when Rozsival will be able to return to action. The team's statement noted that the "surgery went well and he is expected to make a full recovery."

Rozsival has played in 22 games this season, collecting one goal and two assists.

Also, Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson returned to practice after missing three games following the birth of his second child. Hjalmarsson is expected to play in Thursday's game against the Nashville Predators.
