Brooklyn Nets point guard Jeremy Lin will miss at least two weeks due to a strained left hamstring, the team announced Thursday.

Lin, 28, was injured during Wednesday's 109-101 victory over the Detroit Pistons. He left the game in the second quarter but still collected 10 points, two rebounds and four assists in 16 minutes of action.

For the season, Lin is averaging 15.0 points and 6.2 assists in five games, all as a starter, after signing a three-year, $36 million deal as a free agent this past summer.

He will not be able to play against two of his former teams: the Hornets on Friday and the Knicks at Madison Square Garden next Wednesday.

The Nets were already thin at point guard, as Randy Foye (hamstring) and Greivis Vasquez (ankle) are also sidelined with injuries. However, Foye is expected to return against Charlotte on Friday.
