CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Arizona Cardinals starting safety Tyrann Mathieu was ruled out of the rest of Sunday's game with a shoulder injury sustained against the Carolina Panthers.

Mathieu, a fourth-year pro, didn't return for the second half.

Carolina led 24-7 at halftime.
