The Florida Panthers honored late Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez by wearing Fernandez's No. 16 jersey during pregame warm-ups before Thursday night's season opener against the New Jersey Devils.

The Panthers also wore No. 16 decals on their helmets in memory the 24-year-old who died in a boating accident on Sept. 25. Two of Fernandez's teammates, Dee Gordon and Adam Conley, attended the game at BB&T Center.
