Francisco Liriano was replaced on the Toronto Blue Jays roster for the remainder of the American League Division Series. Liriano is likely to be re-evaluated daily by the Blue Jays with the expectation that he could be back within a week. He was injured in the eighth inning of Friday's ALDS Game 2 against the Texas Rangers when he was hit in the back of the head or neck area by a line drive off the bat of Carlos Gomez.

Gomez, a teammate of Liriano with the Minnesota Twins, said he spoke with the 32-year-old left-hander and was sleeping better knowing Liriano was not having "any problems."
Right-handed pitcher Danny Barnes was officially placed on the postseason roster Sunday after Major League Baseball approved the change. During the playoffs, a team can request a roster substitution if a player is unable to play due to an injury.
AUTO RACING
Jimmie Johnson claimed his third win of the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, but his first since winning at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif., in March, with his victory in the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday.
The race was scheduled for Saturday night but was postponed to Sunday because of rain from Hurricane Matthew.
The win was Johnson's eighth-career victory at Charlotte and guarantees his advancement to the third round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
Matt Kenseth finished second after starting the race in the back for an unapproved pre-race change to his car. Three non-Chase competitors rounded out the top-five, with Kasey Kahne, Ryan Newman and Kyle Larson finishing third through fifth, respectively.
GOLF
South Korean Ha Na Jang shot a final-round 1-under 71 and held on for her third victory of the year as she defeated a charging Shanshan Feng by a stroke in the Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship.
Jang started with birdies in three of her first six holes but had bogeys on the seventh and ninth, and pars on every hole of the back side in wind and rain at Miramar Golf and Country Club in Taipei, Taiwan.
The 24-year-old Jang finished at 17-under 271 as Feng of China gradually chipped away at her lead. Feng closed with a 66, chipping in for birdie from 35 feet on the par-4 15th to pull within two strokes and nearly making a greenside bunker shot for eagle on the par-5 18th.
TENNIS
Andy Murray capped his masterful run in Beijing by winning the China Open title with a 6-4, 7-6 (2) victory over Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov.
The world's No. 2 did not drop a set in the tournament en route to becoming the 16th member of the "40 Titles Club" in the Open Era. Murray, who secured an additional 500 points, moved to within 1,555 behind top-ranked Novak Djokovic.
Murray broke Dimitrov's serve in the opening game and was able to secure the first set despite landing only 29 percent of his first serves. The 29-year-old Scot also benefited from 21 unforced errors by Dimitrov to claim the first set.
--Nick Kyrgios secured his third title of the season by posting a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory over David Goffin in the final of the Rakuteen Japan Open.
Kyrgios, who recorded 25 aces and saved 11 of 12 break points, received a boost from the net on a backhand by Goffin late in the third set. The 21-year-old Australian held serve and swept the final three games to secure the victory.
Goffin didn't help himself with six double-faults in the final set.
--Agnieszka Radwanska won the China Open for the second time in five years on Sunday with a straight-set victory over Johanna Konta in Beijing.
No. 3 seed Radwanska, who did not drop a set in the tournament, needed just 96 minutes to record a 6-4, 6-2 win for her 20th career title and third of 2016.
Radwanska broke the 11th-seeded Konta in the third game and used her dominant serve to claim the first set. She also broke Konta twice in the second before serving out the win with an ace.
NBA
The Memphis Grizzlies signed forward Vince Hunter to a contract.
The 6-foot-10, 208-pound Hunter was a member of the Grizzlies' 2016 NBA Summer League team in Las Vegas. He appeared in five games (one start) and averaged 11.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.80 steals in 21.8 minutes while shooting 57.1 percent from the field.
The 22-year-old Hunter went undrafted in 2015 following two seasons at the University of Texas-El Paso, where he was named 2014-15 First Team All-Conference USA as a sophomore and the 2013-14 C-USA Freshman of the Year.
NHL
Florida Panthers forward Jonathan Huberdeau is expected to be sidelined three to four months because of an ankle injury, the team announced.
Huberdeau sustained the injury after his left ankle was cut by the skate of forward Sergey Kalinin with under seven minutes to play in the first period of Saturday's preseason game versus the New Jersey Devils.
Huberdeau signed a six-year contract extension worth $5.9 million annually on Sept. 7. The 23-year-old set career highs with 20 goals, 59 points and a plus-17 rating in 76 games last season.
--The Carolina Hurricanes agreed to terms with defenseman Jakub Nakladal on a one-year, $600,000 contract.
Nakladal, 28, appeared in 27 games with the Calgary Flames in 2015-16, totaling five points (two goals, three assists) and six penalty minutes. He averaged 14:11 of ice time per game.
The Hurricanes also claimed forward Martin Frk off waivers from the Detroit Red Wings. Frk, 23, will join Carolina's training camp following Monday's scheduled off day.
