BALTIMORE -- Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith left the Battle of the Beltway Sunday and did not return due to an ankle injury.

Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman was also hurt.

Norman, who signed a five-year, $75 million deal in the offseason, injured his wrist and was able to return midway through the second quarter. The Redskins were already playing without Bashaud Breeland, who missed his second consecutive game with an ankle injury. Norman has one interception on the season.

Smith left the game for good with an ankle injury after he was hurt on a 7-yard reception with 2:52 left in the first quarter.

Smith limped off the field but was immediately checked out by trainers. Redskins cornerback Greg Toler was called for pass interference on the play, but the penalty was declined.

Smith, who suffered a season-ending torn Achilles in 2015, had three catches for 29 yards. Smith went to the locker room, and the Ravens announced at the start of the second half that he would not return.

Ravens cornerback Sheldon Price suffered a hamstring injury in the second quarter. His return was questionable.

Price got his first start in place of Shareece Wright, who was inactive with back spasms. Price, who was signed to Baltimore's practice squad last season, has appeared in only six career games.

Rookie Tavon Young took Price's spot at cornerback opposite Jimmy Smith.

Ravens right tackle Rick Wagner was ruled out of the game with a thigh injury.

Baltimore shifted Pro Bowl right guard Marshal Yanda to right tackle while Ryan Jensen took over Yanda's spot, leaving center Jeremy Zuttah as the only player in his natural position on the offensive line.

Wagner, a fourth-year player from Wisconsin, has started every game this season.

Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley added his name to the lengthy injury list late in the third quarter, when he injured his hamstring running back an interception.

His return is questionable.

After intercepting quarterback Kirk Cousins, Mosley fumbled the ball through the end zone for a Redskins' touchback. It was a costly mistake that led to a 27-yard field goal by Dustin Hopkins that extended Washington's lead to 16-10.

Mosley was a first-round pick (17th overall) by Baltimore in the 2014 NFL Draft.
