Agnieszka Radwanska won the China Open for the second time in five years on Sunday with a straight-set victory over Johanna Konta in Beijing.

No. 3 seed Radwanska, who did not drop a set in the tournament, needed just 96 minutes to record a 6-4, 6-2 win for her 20th career title and third of 2016.

"It's a very special moment; third final and second title here. It was a really special week for me and it couldn't be any better," Radwanska said.

"Every title means a lot, but especially here when you play against the best players in the world, in one of the biggest tournaments. It's top players from the first round and I've been playing my best tennis all week so of course I'm very happy to win this tournament again, and this trophy is going to stay in a very special place."

Radwanska broke the 11th-seeded Konta in the third game and used her dominant serve to claim the first set. She also broke Konta twice in the second before serving out the win with an ace.

Konta, who was making her first Beijing appearance, committed 29 unforced errors against six for Radwanska.

Despite the setback, Konta's performance in the tournament assured her a place in the next WTA top-10 rankings. She will be the first British woman to accomplish the feat since Jo Durie in 1984.

"It's pretty cool. I'm very pleased with my progress over the past few years and hopefully many more places to climb," the 25-year-old Konta said. "I'm just working hard towards playing matches like these, against players like Agnieszka."
