The woman accusing Derrick Rose and two friends of gang-rape testified on Thursday and became emotional when the New York Knicks point guard entered the courtroom.

The woman filed a $21.5 million civil lawsuit against Rose stemming from an incident in August 2013. The trial is being held in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.

Rose, 28, has denied the woman's allegations that he drugged her drink and raped her. Los Angeles police are investigating but haven't filed charges against Rose or the other two men.

The woman paused when she saw Rose enter the courtroom while she was answering her attorney's questions about the incident.

She said she went to Rose's rented mansion in Beverly Hills for drinks. She recalled that she got very drunk and felt like she had been drugged, but otherwise doesn't recall most of the events that occurred at the residence.

She said she later went home to her apartment and vomited before passing out on her bad. She said three men came to her apartment and raped her.

At one point, a lawyer for Rose's two friends -- Ryan Allen and Randall Hampton -- asked the judge to order the woman not to cry.

"I'm not going to order the witness not to cry any more than I'm going to order her not to breathe," said U.S. District Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald.

Rose's defense lawyers claimed the accuser willingly had sex with Rose and his two friends. They said the woman gave lap dances by the side of a pool, performed oral sex on Rose and invited the three men to her apartment.

"There was no gang rape," attorney Mike Monico said. "There was no rape at all."

Jurors will also have to consider the lack of physical evidence. The woman was not examined by a doctor afterward and didn't report the alleged rape for nearly two years after the incident.

Rose was a member of the Chicago Bulls at the time of the incident. He was traded to the Knicks during this past offseason.
