Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, as expected, was inactive for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers because of a slight hairline fracture in his right knee.

Bryant did not practice all week and was officially listed as questionable on Friday's injury report. He sustained the knee injury against the Chicago Bears last Sunday night. Bryant went through some resistance training before the game but did not go through his normal warmup routine, according to ESPN.

This will be the eighth game in the last two seasons Bryant has missed due to injury, missing seven last year because of a broken right foot.

Brice Butler will move into the starting lineup in place of Bryant.

Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith (back) and cornerback Orlando Scandrick (hamstring strains) are out for a second straight week.
