Stan Wawrinka will go for his fifth ATP title of the year when he faces Alexander Zverev in the St. Petersburg Open final Sunday in Russia.

Wawrinka, the tournament's No. 1 seed, beat Roberto Bautista Agut 7-6(8), 6-2 in the semifinals on Saturday.

In a match that lasted one hour and 51 minutes, Wawrinka won a grueling 18-point tie-break to take the first set. He then went up 4-2 before cruising in the decider.

Meanwhile, Zverev will play for his first title after earning his first win over a top 10-ranked player in Tomas Berdych 6-4, 6-4.

Zverev won four break points and converted 66 percent of his first serves to advance to his third final of the season and career.

"I just needed to serve well in the first place, and I did," Zverev said. "Then I had to play aggressively. Berdych is always trying to dictate the point, and I had to take it away from him. It worked."

---No. 1 seed Dominic Thiem advanced to the Mosselle Open in France with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 victory over two-time champion Gilles Simon.

Thiem will face Lucas Pouille, who defeated former champion David Goffin 7-6(6), 6-1.

Thiem bounced back after falling in the opener. In the second set, he smacked a strong forehand down the line for a point and won another break at 6-5 with a backhand winner to force a third set. There, he trailed early before eventually taking the lead and running away 6-3.

Pouille will go for his first ATP title after a one-hour and 21-minute victory that included 32 winners and taking 12 of 14 points at the net.
