DETROIT -- Detroit Lions star defensive end Ziggy Ansah and running back Ameer Abdullah were questionable to return after sustaining injuries in the first half of Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans.

Ansah suffered a left ankle injury on the team's first defensive series and retreated to the locker room after being examined on the sidelines. He suffered the injury on the Titans' second play from scrimmage.

Ansah was listed as questionable coming into the game because of a shoulder injury. He recorded 14.5 sacks last season.

Abdullah sustained a left foot injury on a 24-yard gain late in the first half.

Abdullah, who had six carries for 38 yards at that point, did not play in the first series of the second half. He had 120 combined yards rushing and receiving in the season opener at Indianapolis, including a receiving touchdown.

Theo Riddick took Abdullah's place in the backfield.
