Vontaze Burfict put on suspended list as Cincinnati Bengals trim roster

The Cincinnati Bengals got down the NFL limit of 53 players on Saturday by placing defensive end Marcus Hardison on injured reserve, terminating the contract of cornerback Chykie Brown, placing linebacker Vontaze Burfict on the suspended list and waiving 18 others.

The players waived are fullback Andrew Bonnet (rookie, North Dakota State); defensive end Ryan Brown (rookie, Mississippi State); running back Tra Carson (rookie, Texas A&M); center Alex Cooper (rookie, Houston); defensive tackle David Dean (rookie, Virginia); tackle Aaron Epps (rookie, Louisville); running back Bronson Hill (first-year player, Eastern Michigan); cornerback Darius Hillary (rookie, Wisconsin); guard Trey Hopkins (second-year player, Texas); wide receiver Jake Kumerow (first-year player, Wisconsin-Whitewater); tight end Matt Lengel (first-year player, Eastern Kentucky); cornerback Tony McRae (rookie, North Carolina A&T); guard Alex Redmond (rookie, UCLA); wide receiver Alonzo Russell (rookie, Toledo); wide receiver Rashaun Simonise (rookie, Calgary); guard Trip Thurman (rookie, Florida); tackle John Weidenaar (rookie, Montana State), and quarterback Keith Wenning (first-year player, Ball State).

The Bengals also waived-injured wide receiver Mario Alford, a second-year man from West Virginia who received an injury settlement.

Any players who clears waivers could be place on the Bengals' 10-man practice squad.
