Minnesota Vikings release DT Kenrick Ellis, get down to 53

The Minnesota Vikings on Saturday released defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis, placed three players on the injured reserve list and waived 19 others to get down to the mandatory NFL limit of 53.

Safety Michael Griffin, cornerback Jabari Price and quarterback Taylor Heinicke (non-football injury) were placed on injured reserve.

Players waived were guard Willie Beavers, wide receiver Moritz Bohringer, tackle Carter Bykowski, tight end Kyle Carter, guard Isame Faciane, wide receiver Isaac Fruechte, linebacker Jake Ganus, running back C.J. Ham, defensive tackle Toby Johnson, defensive end Zach Moore, defensive end Denzell Perine, running back Jhurell Pressley, defensive tackle Travis Raciti, fullback Blake Renaud, cornerback Tre Roberson, quarterback Brad Sorensen, quarterback Joel Stave, linebacker Brandon Watts and defensive end Stephen Weatherly.
