The Buffalo Bills beefed up their thin linebackers unit by acquiring Lerentee McCray from the Green Bay Packers for an undisclosed draft choice on Tuesday.

McCray signed with the Packers in the offseason. He played 24 games for the Denver Broncos over the previous two seasons after spending the 2013 campaign on injured reserve.

Buffalo was hunting for linebacker help after suffering some injuries at the position.

Second-round pick Reggie Ragland (knee) is expected to miss the entire season and first-round selection Shaq Lawson (shoulder) could miss half the campaign.

McCray, 26, factors in as an outside linebacker in the Bills' 3-4 scheme, the same alignment used by the Broncos.

McCray had 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks during his time in Denver.
