Cabrera, who hit two homers in his previous three games, was injured legging out a bunt single. He initially appeared to hurt his left arm, which banged against the midsection of Phillies first baseman Tommy Joseph as Cabrera ducked to avoid a high throw from third baseman Maikel Franco.
Cabrera was looking at his arm while being tended to by Mets trainer Ray Ramirez. The 30-year-old remained in the game but left after advancing to second on a single by Kelly Johnson. He was replaced by Wilmer Flores, who advanced to third on a single by Jay Bruce and scored on a sacrifice fly by Curtis Granderson.
The Mets announced Cabrera had a sore left knee a few minutes later.
Cabrera was out from Aug. 1 through Aug. 18 due to a strained patella tendon in his left knee. He also missed about three weeks in spring training due to a similar injury.
