Top-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska and 10th-seeded Elena Svitolina advanced to the finals of the Connecticut Open in New Haven, Conn., with semifinal victories on Friday.

Radwanska knocked off three-time Connecticut Open champion Petra Kvitova 6-1, 6-1 in a match that was far more one-sided than expected.

The sixth-seeded Kvitova is a two-time Wimbledon champion and the defending champion at the Connecticut Open, but she was dominated by Radwanska, who is ranked No. 4 in the world.

Kvitova committed 17 unforced errors in the first set and never got herself into the match, which was over in 1 hour, 17 minutes.

Radwanska, from Poland, won the first five games of the first set and the first four in the second to stay in control throughout.

Svitolina put an end to the surprising run of lucky loser Johanna Larsson by handing Larsson a 6-4, 6-2 defeat.

Svitolina, who is ranked 23rd in the world, beat Serena Williams on her way to a quarterfinal berth in the Rio Olympics, but she lost her opening match of the Western & Southern Open outside Cincinnati last week.

Larsson had upset Roberta Vinci in the quarterfinals, but could not hold up against Svitolina.
