King announced her engagement to coach Dean Kruse Thursday on Instagram.

"I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the Ages of this world alone," King wrote on Instagram. "My life has been a non stop adventure with you since we met. You've changed my life for the better in every aspect. Without you, this Olympic dream would never have been possible. No one will ever understand the amount of coaching and work you put into my weightlifting career but I am forever in your debt. Thank you for loving me day in and day out. I'm the luckiest girl in the world to be forever yours. Love you!"

Kruse also posted a photo, flashing the ring on Instagram.

"An American Record at the Olympics deserves a ring I guess," Kruse wrote. "So happy she said yes, I don't know what I would do with out her!!"

King leaves Rio after placing No. 6 in the women's 48g Final out of Group A.

"American Record, Engaged, what's next Brazil?!?!?," King wrote on Twitter. "#rio2016 #besttripever #teamusa."
