Seattle Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham returned to the practice field on Wednesday, marking a significant step as he attempts to work his way back from a serious patellar tendon injury.

Graham, who was in full uniform on Wednesday, began training camp on the physically unable to perform list after sustaining the injury against Pittsburgh on Nov. 29.

Seattle coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Tuesday that the 29-year-old Graham was "right at the edge of getting back" to action.

After being the focal point of a high-octane offense in New Orleans, Graham endured a hot-and-cold first season in the Pacific Northwest. The 6-foot-7, 265-pound tight end finished with 48 receptions for 605 yards and two touchdowns in 2015.

A third-round selection by the Saints in the 2010 draft, Graham has reeled in 434 career catches for 5,357 yards and 53 touchdowns in 89 games with New Orleans and Seattle.
