RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Marcel Hacker crashed to the ground in exhaustion and received medical care following the double men's sculls final Tuesday at the Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Hacker, 39, threw himself from his boat, while riding with Stephan Krueger during the event. He was then quickly confronted by medial staff. Krueger and Hacker finished fourth in the event for Germany. Hacker won a bronze medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Lithuania, Italy, and France moved on to Thursday's Final A.
