RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Olympic rowing events in Rio de Janeiro's Lagoa Stadium were postponed on Sunday due to high winds which previously caused the boat of two rowers to capsize.

Olympic officials postponed ten events that were scheduled to begin Sunday about two hours before the rowing event was set to start. The races were rescheduled for Monday.

"Racing is postponed and will not take place today due to technical installation difficulties caused by the strong winds and the forecast for the afternoon which indicates adverse weather conditions," said an official message released Sunday.

On Saturday, the boat of Milos Vasic and Nenad Bedik from the Serbian team capsized during the men's semi-final event. They finished last.
