Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Senquez Golson missed his entire rookie season due to injury and his sophomore campaign could be in jeopardy.

Golson is expected to miss 12 weeks with a Lisfranc injury sustained in Monday's practice, the NFL Network reported Tuesday.

Golson was carted off the practice field Monday with what Steelers coach Mike Tomlin termed a mid-foot injury. Golson, 23, was working with the first team in nickel packages and was expected to compete for a starting cornerback job.

A second-round draft choice out of Mississippi in 2015, Golson sustained a season-ending shoulder injury in training camp last year.

The 5-foot-9, 176-pound Golson registered six interceptions in four seasons at Ole Miss.
