Two days after a deal with the Cleveland Indians fell through, the Milwaukee Brewers reportedly traded catcher Jonathan Lucroy to the Texas Rangers on Monday.

The Brewers initially traded Lucroy to the Indians Saturday but he used his no-trade clause to block the deal. Cleveland was among eight teams on Lucroy's no-trade list and he was concerned about playing time next season with the Indians.

Lucroy, a two-time All-Star, is batting .300 with 13 home runs and 50 RBIs this season. He has a $4 million salary this year as part of a contract that includes a $5.25 million team option for 2017.

Reports indicated the New York Mets were also trying to get Lucroy but instead he was sent to Texas along with closer Jeremy Jeffress for outfielder Lewis Brinson and pitcher Luis Ortiz.

Jeffress had 26 saves with a 2.27 ERA in 46 appearances for Milwaukee this season.

Lucroy's acquisition came shortly after the Rangers sent three prospects to the New York Yankees for designated hitter Carlos Beltran.

The deals saw Texas trade three first-round selections. Brinson was the team's 2012 pick, Ortiz was the team's 2014 selection and Tate was the fourth overall pick in 2015.

This year with Double-A Frisco, Brinson was batting .237 in 77 games.

Ortiz also was with Frisco this season and was 1-4 with a 4.08 ERA in nine games.
