Arizona Cardinals wide receiver John Brown was placed in the league's concussion protocol on Monday.

Brown absorbed a big hit from safety Tony Jefferson during a two-minute drill in Sunday's practice and hit his head on the turf, coach Bruce Arians told reporters. The 26-year-old Brown was able to walk off the field under the watch of a trainer.

Brown reeled in 65 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns last season for the high-octane Cardinals.

Selected in the third round of the 2014 draft, Brown has 113 catches for 1,699 yards and 12 scores over two seasons.
