Washington Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld knows exactly what he has in shooting guard Bradley Beal.

With that in mind, Beal was rewarded with a new contract on Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team, but multiple reports earlier this month had the pact listed at five years and $128 million.

"Bradley has proven himself as one of the top young shooting guards in the league, and we feel that he has the potential to rise to an elite level as he enters the prime of his career as one of the cornerstones of our team," Grunfeld said. "He is an outstanding member of the community and a great example of the type of player and person we want to represent our franchise."

Beal played in a career-low 55 games last season due in large part to a stress reaction to his right fibula. The 23-year-old averaged a personal-best 17.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 2015-16.

The third overall pick of the 2012 draft, Beal has averaged 16.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists during his four seasons with the Wizards.
