The Cincinnati Bengals were quite busy on Tuesday as they placed Pro Bowl tight end Tyler Eifert on the physically unable to perform list and veteran linebacker Rey Maualuga on the active/non-football injury list.

Eifert underwent offseason ankle surgery and is expected to miss the majority - if not all - of training camp and the preseason. Defensive tackle Brandon Thompson and wide receiver James Wright were also placed on the PUP list with knee injuries.

The team did not divulge the nature of the injury for Maualuga, who had dealt with hamstring issues and had to sit out the majority of Cincinnati's offseason work.

In addition, the Bengals signed rookie wide receiver Rashaun Simonise to a contract and waived first-year defensive end Dezmond Johnson and rookie wideout DyShawn Mobley.

Simonise played collegiately at the University of Calgary and joined the Bengals as a free agent after he went unselected earlier this month at the supplemental draft.
