The Cleveland Browns signed veteran defensive lineman Nick Hayden to add needed depth.

The Browns were looking for help after defensive end Desmond Bryant suffered a torn pectoral muscle during a workout. Bryant is expected to miss the entire 2016 season.

The 6-foot-3, 295-pound Hayden started the last three seasons for the Dallas Cowboys at defensive tackle before becoming a free agent. In 2015, he started 15 of his 16 games, totaling 48 tackles and a fumble recovery. He also had five pressures and two passes broken up.

Hayden, 30, is entering his seventh NFL season out of Wisconsin. Originally selected by Carolina in the sixth round of the 2008 draft, Hayden has appeared in 76 games with the Panthers (2008-10), Cincinnati Bengals (2011) and Cowboys (2013-15).

Hayden has recorded 183 career tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
