Purdue Boilermakers coach Matt Painter has agreed to a three-year contract extension through the 2021-22 season. He told the Indianapolis Star in a text message that the deal may not be finalized until the Aug. 25-26 meeting of the Purdue Board of Trustees.
While Painter said he would not comment on the extension until it is finalized, he was due to earn $2.45 million for the 2016-17 under his current contract, with potential bonuses for his team's academic performance and Big Ten and national tournament achievements.
