Pittsburgh Pirates activated C Francisco Cervelli, RHP Jameson Taillon

The Pittsburgh Pirates activated catcher Francisco Cervelli from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday, the team announced.

Cervelli underwent surgery on his left hand five-plus weeks ago.

Pittsburgh also activated right-hander Jameson Taillon (shoulder) from the disabled list. The Pirates optioned right-hander Chad Kuhl to Triple-A Indianapolis and designated catcher Erik Kratz for assignment.

Cervelli went 4-for-10 with three walks in a three-game rehab stint at Indianapolis.
